François Antoine Spiegel, son of Joseph Spiegel, was born on May 24, 1797 {5 Prairial 5} at Ohnenheim, France. He died at the age of sixty-five on February 13, 1861 at Guémar, France. During his lifetime, François Antoine was a domestic for several farmers in the Guémar area, a farmer and a gravedigger.
François Antoine first married at Guémar, France on May 21, 1822 to Marie Madelena Stockel, daughter of Joseph Stockel and Madelaine Fuchs. Among the witnesses listed for their marriage was François Joseph Spiegel, the groom's brother. Marie Madelena was born on March 25, 1796 {5 Germinal 4} at Guémar, France. She died on January 30, 1838 at Guémar, France.
François Antoine and Marie Madelaine had four children, all of whom were born at Guémar, France. The family lived on the Rue Fritiggass. It is interesting to note that on a plan of the village of Guémar for the year 1830, François' home is located behind a cemetery.
François Antoine married a second time at Guémar, France on November 7, 1838 to Marie Anne Vogel, daughter of Antoine Vogel and Marie Anne Schirm. Among the witnesses to their marriage were listed François Joseph Spiegel, the groom's brother, Leger Vogel, the bride's brother and Alexander Spiegel, for whom no relationship to François Antoine is given. Marie Anne was born on May 1, 1813 at Guémar, France. She died on April 28, 1847 at Guémar, France.
François Antoine and Marie Anne had five children, all of whom were born at Guémar, France.
For a third time, François Antoine married at Guémar, France on January 12, 1848 to Amelia Josephine Fridblatt, daughter of Jean Baptiste Fridblatt and Marie Cecelie Rumpler. Among the witnessess to their marriage there was listed François Joseph Spiegel, the groom's brother. Amelia was born on March 3, 1812 at Guémar, France. She died on May 4, 1855 at Guémar, France.
François Antoine and Amelia Josephine had three children, all of whom were born at Guémar, France.
