Peter J. Hennes, son of Michael, was born on July 15, 1886 at Lemont, Cook, Illinois. He was baptized on July 18, 1886 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Lemont His godparents were Peter Heinz and Margareth Dillenburg. Peter died on October 12, 1974 at Lemont.
Peter owned a general store in Sag Bridge, Cook, Illinois. In the 1920 United States census return for Lemont, Peter’s occupation is given as farmer. In the 1930 United States census return, Peter is reported to be a laborer doing roadwork.
From Peter's World War I draft registration card, which was dated June 5, 1917, we learn that his middle initial was “J”, that he was a farmer and store keeper by profession, that he was self-employed in Sag Bridge and that he had rheumatism. He is described as being of medium height and build and as having dark brown eyes and black hair.
Peter married on April 6, 1910 to Julia J. Simmer, daughter of Peter Simmer , Sr. and Alvina Schultz . She was born on March 13, 1891 and died at Sag Bridge on February 15, 1931 due to heart failure. According to the 1920 United States census Julia was born about 1893.
Peter and Julia had two children.
She married Harry Walter Kluga, son of Stephen P. Kluga and Martha A. Kaminski. Harry was born on September 11, 1913 at Lemont. He died in February 2, 1979 at Saint Petersburg, Pinellas, Florida.
Geraldine and Harry had a daughter, Geraldyne A., whose lifespan had been given as April 24, 1940 to March 18, 1980 or 1984.
