John Hennes and Magdalena Muller's Family

John (Joannes) Hennes was born about the year 1727. This year is based upon his age, fifty-seven, at the time of his death. He died on April 13, 1784 at Holsthum, Germany. He was buried in the local cemetery on April 14, 1784. According to two of his children's baptismal registration, John was a shepherd (pastoris ovium) by trade.

John married in the Catholic Church at Dockendorf, Germany on January 7, 1766 to Magdalena Muller. A transcription of the Catholic Church records from Ernzen, Germany suggests that the year of John's marriage may have been 1770. The date given here is from the marriage records of the Catholic Church in Dockendorf, Germany. According to the couple's marriage registration, John was from Altscheid, Germany and Magdalena was from Wolsfeld, Germany. It appears the John could not write as he only made his mark on the baptismal registration of his children.

John and Magdalena appear to have had five children.

1. Catherine Hennes was born on January 27, 1775 at Holsthum, Germany. She died on April 7, 1813 at Ernzen, Germany.
2. Angela Hennes was born on December 28, 1776 at Holsthum, Germany.
3. Anna Catherine Hennes was born on May 14, 1779 at Holsthum, Germany. She died on March 9, 1845 at Ernzen, Germany.
4. Catherine Hennes was born on July 19, 1781 at Holsthum, Germany. She died on October 8, 1850 at Ernzen, Germany.
5. Mathias Hennes was born on June 7, 1784 at Holsthum, Germany. He died on September 18, 1849 at Ernzen, Germany.
