Families of Catherine Hennes

Catherine Hennes, daughter of John, was born and baptized on January 27, 1775 at Holsthum, Germany. Her godparents were Willibrordo Wadeweiler and Catherine Marsts. Catherine died at four o'clock in the morning on April 7, 1813 at Ernzen, Germany. Based on her age, thirty-eight, at the time of her death, 1775 is confirmed as her year of birth. Catherine was unable to write as she only made her mark in the registration of her second marriage.

Catherine first married Thomas Classen (Claussen). Thomas died prior to 1806. He was a day laborer (operarius) by profession.

Catherine and Thomas had at least one child.

  1. Helena Classen married on February 15, 1816 in St. Mark's Catholic Church at Ernzen, Germany to Valentine Deutsch, son of Theodore Deutsch and Magdalena Wagener. Helena died on October 2, 1854 at Ernzen at the age of sixty years. This would indicate that 1794 might be the year of Helena's birth. There are some indications that Helena's name may have been Magdalena.
