Families of Chatherine Hennes

Catherine Hennes, daughter of John, was born and baptized on July 19, 1781 at Holsthum, Germany. She died at Ernzen, Germany on October 8, 1850 at the age of seventy and is referred to as the widow of John (Joannes) Welter. She was buried on October 11, 1850.

Catherine first married Christien Malampre. Christien died at the age of thirty-five on June 24, 1811 at Enrzen, Germany. He was a day laborer by profession. Based on his age at the time of his death, Christien was born about 1776

It appears that Catherine and Christien had at least two children.

  1. Anna Marie Malampre was born on October 29, 1804. She died on February 18, 1816 at Ernzen, Germany. Her godparents were John (Joanne) Trampert and Anna Marie Welter.
  2. Mathias Malampre was born on November 29, 1807. His godparents were Mathias Hennes and Elisabeth Malampre.

On July 19, 1813, Catherine married John (Joannes) Welter, the widower of Ann Welter, after no objections or impediments were discovered. In the marriage registration, Catherine is referred to as the widow of Christien Malampre,. John was a day laborer by profession. He died at Ernzen, Germany on December 18, 1828.

Neither John nor Catherine was able to write as they only made their marks on the registration of their marriage.

It appears that Catherine and John had at least four children.

  1. Peter Welter was born on April 4, 1814 at Ernzen, Germany and died there on February 7, 1815.
  2. Angela Welter was born on December 30, 1817 at Ernzen, Germany.
  3. Angela Welter was born on December 30, 1817 at Ernzen, Germany.
  4. John Welter was born on January 13, 1825 at Ernzen, Germany.
