Frank Ernest Reist, son of Leonard, who was born on July 29, 1886. He died on November 8, 1934 at Benton Harbor, Berrien, Michigan. He was buried on November 12, 1934 at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor. In 1920, Frank was a salesman for a meat market. In 1930, he was employed as a meat cutter.
Frank’s World War I draft registration card, which was dated June 5, 1917, tells that he was born on the date cited above, he lived at 1018 Pearl Street in Benton Harbor, that he was thirty years of age, and was employed as a meat cutter by Gust Wolf. He was described as being of medium height and built with brown eyes and hair.
Frank married on June 12, 1916 at Benton Harbor, Michigan to Ellen Mable Pullen, daughter of Edward Pullen and Ellen May Ricks . Witnesses to their marriage were Leonard and Daisy Reist. Ellen Mable was born on September 18, 1887 at Benton Harbor and died there on March 4, 1942.
Frank and Ellen had one child.
- John Robert Reist married on November 26, 1933 to Vera Madeline Blakeman, daughter of William Blakeman and Laura H. Peleman, in the First Baptist parsonage on Broadway in Benton Harbor. Vera was born April 9, 1917 at Benton Harbor. She died on April 4, 1999 in Knoxville, Knox, Tennessee.
They were divorced on April 5, 1944 on the grounds of cruelty and infidelity. It appears that Vera married a second time April 4, 1944 to Warren Fowler.
John Robert and Vera had two children: Phyllis Madeline [born February 26, 1940.] and Walter.
It appears that John Robert married a second time as a marriage license was issued to him on November 10, 1969. His bride to be was named Maxine Sylvia Eubanks.
