The Family of Bernard Willmeng and Anne Marie Roessler

Bernard Willmeng is the oldest known member of the Willmeng family. Based on his age at the time of his death, he was born about 1749. He died at the age of sixty-four years on February 28, 1813 at Grussenheim, France. He owned a house in the Hintergäss section of Grussenheim. Bernard was a daylaborer.

Bernard married Anne Marie Roessler. Based on her age at the time of her death, she was born about 1756 at Grussenheim, France. She died at the age of sixty-six on June 5, 1822 in the house of her son-in-law, Joseph Schneider, at Grussenheim, France.

Bernard and Anne Marie had at least two children, both of whom were born at Grussenheim, France.

  1. Anne Marie Willmeng was born about 1795. This year is based on her age, nineteen, at the time of her marriage. On February 20, 1814, she married at Grussenheim, France to François Joseph Schneider, son of Joseph Schneider and Marguerithe Ludruiger. Witnesses to their marriage included Joseph Bliss, Anne Marie's cousin and Jean Bliss, Anne Marie's uncle. Based on his age, thirty, at the time of his marriage, François Joseph was born about 1784 at Thause, France. He was a mason by profession.
  2. Bernard Willmeng was born on May 22, 1795 {3 Praireal 3}.
