When we were in third grade, many years back, we went on a class field trip to Old Main Street. In our town, there is no main street, but there is Old Main Street. We went on a wagon ride through this historic part of our town. We stopped in front of a building that is now the Board of Education. Before it was the Board of Education, it was an office building. There is a graveyard behind it, but that is not the focus of our story. It turns out that a head of the building, called Louie, was always mean and grumpy to the other workers. It got so bad that he picked up the nickname Screwy Louie. He died a while back, and now the building is the Board of Ed. About 13 years ago, there was a hurricane (this was after Louie died). There were two people that hadn't left the building before the hurricane hit; a janitor and an employee. The janitor was looking out at the backyard and he saw a man that had the resemblance of Louie. The man was chasing what looked like a dog outside. The janitor wondered what the man was doing outside in the hurricane and called the employee over. The employee hurried to the window and was there in less than thirty seconds, but the man was gone! The janitor reported to have seen the man sink into the ground. It all sounds strange, but that is the true story we were told!
