it was great to see your page. i'm very interested in ghosts and hauntings and other things of the paranormal sort. i live very close to portland and i think i'm gonna go check out the library and what not.
i also have a couple stories to share with you.
i live in forest grove. it's 'bout 20 minutes from portland. my sis bought me a ouija board for christmas one year and we were using it quite often. the spirit that would talk to us ALL the time went by the name, Shem. he seemed friendly enough and was eager to talk and answer any questions that he could. i had asked him one night if he could somehow prove his presence to us. he said yes and i asked if he could knock on the window. he said yes and i asked him when. he had told me at 7 pm. it was about 6 or so, so we grabbed a snack and came back about 5 til. sure enough 7 o'clock and we heard 3 loud bangs on my bedroom wall to the right of the window. i jumped up and ran to the window to see if anyone was out there. NO ONE.
another night we were using the ouija and it started moving very fast and with quick movements. i freaked out and decided it was time to stop with the ouija board. i put it away "for good" and the next night the cupboard doors in the kitchen started to open and close. they weren't just opening like normal. someone was slamming them over and over again. my bedroom shares a wall with the kitchen so the noises woke me and my cousin up. we just sat there and looked at each other. finally after 'bout an hour of the racket i got up the nerve to do some investigating. i walked out into the hall and was standing in the doorway at the end of the hall that led into the kitchen (the banging was still going on) when one door slammed one more time really loudly. i jumped into the kitchen to see who was there and again....NO ONE! i even looked under the kitchen table! needless to say i jet back to my bedroom to relay the news to my cousin. this happened every night from about midnight til very early in the morning. finally i got tired of not being able to sleep because of all the racket and got the ouija board out again. me, my cousin, and my sis asked Shem if he was the one doing it and it went to yes. when i asked why he said that he just wanted to talk to me. i explained that we couldn't talk anymore, that i didn't feel comfortable using the ouija anymore and said goodbye to him once again. i put the ouija board away. the noises in the kitchen stopped, but one night coming home from work. it was about 1 am and winter so i had the heat up full blast and the windows up in the car. when all of a sudden i felt an ice cold breeze. curious, i started to feel around the window on the driver side to make sure that it wasn't cracked, then i moved on to the passenger side. the windows were both closed, but when i was feeling the passenger side window, my arm from my wrist (my hand was touching the passenger window and i could feel the heater on my hand) to my shoulder was ice cold.
that's when i freaked out. i've done A LOT of research on hauntings and the paranormal and i know that a ghostly presence can sometimes be associated with a drop in temperature. so i felt up and down the passenger seat . it was ice cold only in the seat as if "someone" was sitting there. i freaked out and told whoever was there to get out of my car and that they weren't invited or welcome there. just then i was about to take a gentle curve to the left in the road. when i tried to turn the steering wheel wouldn't turn and i was headed right towards a telephone pole! i was pulling as hard as i could left but the steering wheel held fast. i jerked the wheel one last time as hard as i could to the left to keep from running into the pole and it finally let go and my car jumped into the other lane.
also in my house i have heard footsteps on the basement stairs when i was home alone in the middle of the day and other odd noises.
i would like to share more stories with you, but i've taken up a lot of your time already. i'll keep you posted on my little trip to the library in portland and the white eagle.
take it easy,
