About five years ago i moved to Portland. I moved in with a group of people that live on ne 105th, some very strange things happened in my 6 mos. there. the general atmosphere of this house was kinda "spooky" i couldn't sleep my first nights there. in my bedroom i would shut my closet before going to bed everynight(after getting my clothes ready for the next day) and it would be wide open the next morning. i would awaken at night, sometimes, hearing my name shouted in my ear. i would also, after waking, see a figure near the closet, or standing in the doorway. it was usually a very tall, dark, hooded figure,it would float towards me only to disappear before it reached me. i would sometimes sleep in the living room only to be awakened again with my named or a sound like a cap gun going off right next to my ear. we had a toddler living in the house that would refer to the "old man" in the house. cold breezes, faucets turning on by themselves, and seeing someone or thing in the corner of your eye was a common occurance. one morning,i was awakened by heavy pounding on the ceiling above me, sort of like footsteps( there was a room upstairs) i thought maybe my roomate had returned home early from his weekend. i got up(mad) and looked in the driveway to make sure his car was there. it wasn't. all of the other roomates weren't home. a couple of weeks later another roommate of mine was on the phone, everyone was at work or out for the evening, and she heard the one of the other phones pick up. she told the person she was talking to to hold and ran to check the other lines. to her amazement and despair, the phone in the basement was sitting, upright with the receiver strewn across to the other side of the sofa it was sitting on. the way it was positioned there is no way it could have toppled over and lay in the position it was in. this was the last thing to happen while i was there.the only way out of the basement was up the stairs and through the kitchen where she was sitting. i moved shortly after. my former roommates still live in the house and i still talk to them.
