This image was taken at f#22 as an exercise in depth of
field. The scan of the square slide was cropped to allow for a video
aspect ratio of 3:4 for LCSG full frame viewing. The vignetted corners
were also removed. An enlarged view of the scan is available by clicking
on the image. You will notice that best sharpness is at ~ 4 ft and
that sharpness in the distance has been sacrificed. The smallest
focused spot of 500nm green would be 26 microns, or 40 dots per mm (20
lp/mm). Since the Fuji Chrome can resolve 50 lp/mm there is some
overall loss of image sharpness in spite of the increased depth of field.
