Confirmation

The preparation period for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is two years.  The program begins with 6^th and 7^th graders in one class (Confirmation Preparation).  We emphasize on how to be responsible and knowledgeable Catholic Adults.

Class is held once a month on the second Saturday.  The program begins in September and continues through May.

One of the biggest emphases of the program is Community Services.  The purpose of volunteer service is to show the love of Christ by sharing our talents with others who need our assistance.  As Christians we are called to offer service lovingly to others.  The program requires a minimum of 30 service hours.  These hours allow the Confirmation candidates an opportunity to explore the many avenues of service that are available to them.  This requirement allows them to grow in the practice of their faith.  There are three categories of service:  Parish, Community, and Individual.

Some of the services performed by the confirmation candidates include:   The “Bread for Life” bread sale Cooking and serving the homeless at their shelters twice a month. Coordinating “The Christmas Giving Tree” activities for the needy. Church decorating assistance for the Holidays. Provide waiter/waitress services for the Rosarians fish fry dinner.
