Nina has gone to the great catnip field in the sky. Friday she would not eat, and acted very tired. Saturday she stumbled around a bit, like she might have had a stroke, and continued to eat nothing. Sunday we tried tempting her with some goodies, but she refused to eat at all. She still acted very slow, occasionally had trouble with balance, and appeared very very tired. I took her to the vet first thing monday morning. The vet said "kidney failure" and "possible strokes". The vet also said that it might just be possible to keep her alive another month or perhaps a few months with "aggressive medical treatment" but even that might not work. So we decided her time had come. |
Nina provided nearly 17 years of companionship, and was the worlds best mouser. No rodent was safe anywhere on our property. (Except for the ones she brought inside to be her pets!) |
