Kinds of Swimming & Spa Pool TimersElectronic TimersElectronic pool timers have digital readouts and use only a small amount of electricity. Usually, it's safe to keep them someplace where they might get wet, because the voltage flowing through the timer is so low. Electronic timers are very accurate. Twist TimersYou may have seen twist timers on the sauna or hot tub at the local health club. A twist timer allows you to set the time, usually from 1-60 minutes. These are not usually used to turn on equipment, but to turn it off. They can be helpful to remind users not to stay in the spa for too long. Installing a TimerAfter you decide on a timer, you need to install it. Look for the trippers, labeled with the words ON and OFF. These mechanisms are for setting the timer. You should see screw terminals at the bottom of the timer. Attach them to the wires of the appliance. Set the time and you're ready to go. For further help, refer to the instructions that come with the timer.
