Cafe Arpeggio

All about the Cafés:

rob
A young twelve year old boy had a dream of being able to play his guitar in a place where people could listen to music while having a bite to eat. In 1989 Rob's dream came true when he and his wife, Suk, bought their first café in Mansfield, MA. They took an old drug store with its original wooden booths and marble tables and converted it to a bistro-style café.

In 1997, Rob and Suk built a second café in South Boston. As with the Mansfield Café, this café specializes in gourmet offerings of soups, salads, sandwiches & wraps, desserts and micro-brewed coffees. Keeping it a family operation, their son Keith became the manager in 2002. At this successful bistro, local artists can exhibit their works on the walls of the café. The artwork is for sale through the café.

fall river cafe In November 2002 they built a café in Fall River. Innovative in design and color, the café, like the South Boston Café, offers gourmet foods, coffees and desserts. Here, in addition to the bistro style environment and menu, they included the ice cream factory. Situated in the front of the café, people walking past or folks in the café can watch Rob make the ice cream.

Continuing in the family tradition, Rob Jr, who graduated from the International Academy of Culinary Arts in Fall River, now manages this café.

The style is, once again, like a Parisian bistro where gourmet salads, soups, sandwiches, desserts, ice cream and coffees are offered to customers. Suk manages the café and insures the high quality of all the cafés.

Every Thursday evening, New Bedford's favorite troubador, Art Tebbetts hosts an Open Mic.
