SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH

This is from the Advent Review and Sabbath Herald dated March 9, 1893, Vol. 70, No. 19 written by R. S. Owen:

“I visited the church in Alpharetta with Elder W. A. McCutchen and his wife on April 21, 1893. The ordinances were celebrated on the Sabbath, and now holding a few meetings in the Court House, with good attendance. We design to pitch the tent at another place soon. I have experienced no discomfort from the heat thus far. I find the people kindhearted and friendly, and we hope to win some souls to the truth from this part of the Lord’s vineyard.

This is from the Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, Vol. 70, No. 20 written by W. A. McCutchen:

“On April 20 (no year), I had an appointment to meet with the church in Alpharetta for the quarterly meeting, which had been deferred until this time. Contrary to my expectations, Elder Owen arrived from Canada before I left for Alpharetta, so we went together to this place.”

This is from the Advent and Review and Sabbath Herald March 13, 1900, Vol. 77, No. 11, page 173 written by M. G. Huffman:

“In the spring of 1889, I held a series of meetings which resulted in several persons accepting the message. In November, 1889, I organized a church with a membership of eighteen. At a subsequent visit I found them all faithful. There was a good interest in the town to hear again the message for this time. There being no suitable place for public meetings, the brethren and friends were called together to consider the advisability of erecting a church. All were agreed that this would be for the best interest of the cause and over five hundred dollars was subscribed. On December 31, 1889, I had the privilege of being present at the dedicatory services of their church. The house and furniture cost nearly eleven hundred dollars and the building was erected free from debt.”
