BOILING SPRINGS PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH

The Boiling Springs Primitive Baptist Church began as a Baptist church known as Boiling Springs with ten members on November 11, 1837. On December 7, 1840, the church became known as Boiling Springs Primitive Baptist Church.

The church first convened in a log house, and it was not until after the Civil War that a frame house was built to replace the former one. A cyclone blew it down but they built it back. In 1936 another new building was erected.

The charter members were David Dudley, James Reavis, Austin Bradley, Daniel Curbow, Miranda Priest, Pamelia Cross, Sarah Bradley, Rutha Curbow, Millberry Dudley and Rebecca Reavis.
