James M. Allen served in the Confederate Army he enlisted as Private on May 3, 1862 in Company G, 56th Infantry Regiment of Georgia. He was taken prisoner on July 4, 1863 at Vicksburg MS; paroled on July 8, 1863 at Vicksburg, surrendered April 26, 1865 at Greensboro NC. After James' death, his widow, "Millie F." collected his pension.

Both James and Miller are buried at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, now in Forsyth County/was old Milton County. Beside them is buried Joseph Benton _ I believe the son-in-law who married their daughter, Armida.
I have more info on my gg grandmother and ggrandparents who also resided in that area.
