Baltimore -Baltimore City resident and anti-war activist Eddie Boyd is seeking the Green Party nomination for Governor of Maryland. He will announce his intention to seek the party's nomination on Monday, January 30 at 5:30 PM in front of Baltimore City Hall.
"My candidacy will give Marylanders an opportunity to see a candidate who is truly opposed to the agenda of Robert Ehrlich and Maryland corporate interests," says Eddie Boyd. " For once we'll have a race of real opposites."
Boyd will be joined on Monday by members of the Baltimore Pledge of Resistance, a Baltimore anti-war group who was in the spotlight recently when it was discovered that the group was spied upon by the United States National Security Agency. A January 13 Baltimore Sun article documented that the NSA was assisted by the Baltimore City Police. Boyd will be supporting the Pledge's call for a full investigation into the matter in which both the city police and mayor Martin O'Malley were implicated in this matter. Members of the Pledge are expected to be present at the press conference.
