Church Activities
Altar Server Program
- The purpose of this program is to insure the proper training, guidance, and reinforcement of
the altar servers at St. Theresa Parish. The Altar Server Committee has published the Altar Server Manual, with complete instructions for all Masses. Training is conducted twice a year and the Altar Server Committee furnishes mentors to the servers at each Mass to give positive support and nurturing to the servers in their performance on the altar. Our Council's committee also recognizes the servers annually and organizes an all day trip for the servers in recognition of their efforts.
Oktoberfest
- This committee is responsible for staffing the Game Booth at the Parish's Annual Oktoberfest. This is a great opportunity for Knights and prospect Knights to get together to help the Parish.
Church Decorations
- Our Council organizes the decoration of the church for Christmas. This involves marshalling sufficient people to put up and take down the decorations that are stored on site in the Church. We also look to this committee to make recommendations about new or replacement decorations for Christmas, based on first-hand knowledge of the condition of the decorations.
Giving Trees Program
- This committee, in coordination with a number of other parish organizations, places trees in the back of the Church and places tags on the trees to assist parishioners in making meaningful contributions to those less fortunate in our community. The committee typically makes arrangements with the Parish's Cub Scout Pack to create the ornaments and organizes the Knights to take the packages across the river to St. Francis right before Christmas.
Coffee and Donut Socials
- This commitee organizations the coffee and donut socials after the 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM masses. They are responsible for picking up the donuts and getting the social hall organized for the event. This is a great time for Brother Knights to meet and greet prospective Knights.
Come Home for Christmas Program
- The purpose of this program is to welcome back our brothers and sisters who have become separated from the Church and wish to return. This involves placing some advertisements in a variety of media outlets at Christmas time and then scheduling an opportunity for those invited to meet with one of our parish priests. A very moving program and an opportunity to help mend the wounds that sometimes separate us from our Lord.
RSVP (Refund Support Vocations Program)
- The RSVP establishes a monetary contribution from our Council to a seminarian in our area for financial assistance with the costs associated with religious education. The Committee's job is to coordinate the selection of a seminarian with the State and Supreme Councils and to follow through and coordinate the receipt of our contribution by the seminarian. This is a very important program, since the support of vocations is one of the Knights main objectives.
Thanksgiving Wine and Cheese Social
- Our Council organizes and staffs the annual Thanksgiving Wine and Cheese Social, held immediately after Mass on Thanksgiving Day. This event is always well attended and is a great opportunity to see friends and family home for the holidays. Cookies and punch are also provided, so it's great fun for the whole family!
Chicken BBQ
- A yearly event with proceeds that help support our commitment to the RSVP program. (We traditionaly sell 1/2 chicken, potato and roll.) Knight volunteers help at the event to do prep work, to sell tickets, to clean-up , and to promote the event. Please plan to make this one of your summer activities!
