With some surprising events, I managed to sidetrack and leave my editorial write ups in limbo. I end up playing Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour with my friends. It is fun. Sad thing is that it will seem to continue. Love to play war games and take on the computers. Up next is starting to challenge people instead of computers. It will be a tough one. School is going to start right after this upcoming weekend. So I don't know what I'm going to put up on my website. Probably that long overdue Doom 3 review that I always meaning to write. I'll see what I can do with my time. Summer is coming to an end quick. And I predict I will be heavily busy with school work this upcoming semester. It won't be like any other semesters that's for sure. Ready to start acing my courses.

Even side tracking a little bit, I managed to finish updating Doom 3 Benchmarks editorial. This editorial now includes Catalyst 4.8 driver. Too bad that any further Catalyst driver releases in the future won't be on the same benchmarking level due to my recent reformat for the editorial. When I did a simple test to see if my Catalyst 4.8 results acquired days ago were legitimate, they were better than the old ones by a tad bit. So that means that the Catalyst 4.8 numbers I've collected were in fact good numbers. If any more benchmarks were to be done, I'll have to start a new one.

Anyhow, it looks like I'll have to start working on my senior design project once again, as I finally got fresh things to work with. It shouldn't take long before I resume back to getting more stuff on my website before fall semester at college comes by.

It turns out that the performance was on par with the results for Doom 3 benchmarking with Catalyst 4.8 when I double checked. Looks weird, but I'll go with the flow, as I find no evidence of bad setup. It only turns out that Catalyst 4.8 is very on par with Catalyst 4.9 beta. So I'll begin updating the editorial now and have it up sometime in the nightfall.

Currently, I'm done with the reformatting of my desktop computer. I ran some benchmarks with 3DMark2001 SE and then 3DMark2003 to see what my computer gets. I will link up those URLs to compare soon enough. I didn't have enough time to start benchmarking Doom 3 again to verify that the scores were actually what I got a day ago. I will do it later tonight or tomorrow and then start writing up the results. Everything is sure getting hit with delays. Nothing goes as fast as I want it to. With the computer reformatted, I had to download a lot of software updates. I already had SP2 slipstreamed into my original Windows XP Pro CD, so Windows update wasn't my concern. Softwares that I had installed however, were outdated given that there were a few updates since I last updated them months ago. Now everything is up to date.

Well, hopefully I won't get sidetracked too much later tomorrow so that I can finish up my editorials.

Blah. I wanted to get the new Doom 3 benchmarks up for Catalyst 4.8, but the results are puzzling me. Not that they perform sub par, but actually on par with the Catalyst 4.9 beta. So, I will have to re-do the benchmark for the third time (the first time, I overclocked my video card a little too much which gave better results) after I reformat my computer. That's right, I will reformat my computer sometime tonight. Will try to have everything up by tomorrow and do the Doom 3 benchmarks all over again. I haven't updated the Doom 3 Benchmarks editorial for releasing numbers from Excel because I was holding out on completing the Catalyst 4.8 benchmarks, so updating the entire tutorial all in one pass instead of multiple passes.

I also wanted to release my Doom 3 review editorial today as well, but somehow my time is eaten up by a few things that just happened to came by. Sucks how time dedicated to wanting to finished Doom 3 related editorials as soon as possible gets easily digressed.

Straying away from Doom 3 at the moment, I see that my upcoming fall semester is coming around the corner fast. Only less than 13 days until the first day of classes begin. So I'll have to make sure to speed things up finishing tasks that crops up like no tomorrow. Well, back to finishing up backing up data on my computer before it gets recycled with a new fresh OS installation.

I realize that I didn't include the number charts for my Doom 3 Benchmarks. I will have it up later in the day after I convert it to HTML style, or find some quick way to do it. There are a lot of numbers and HTML coding to go through. I had enough of the benchmarking editorial. Took for an eternity to complete.

Well, less than a month left before fall semester starts for college. Also, it's almost time that my vacation takes a wrap up and I start being productive again. I would like to do put up a lot of editorials, but we'll see how many editorials I can get up. I know for one thing is that Doom 3 benchmarks will definitely be up. Whenever I can get my hands on Doom 3, I will be benchmarking it first thing with my system and publish the results. I'm going to start off with my standard system, then start overclocking my system to show what kind of performance and quality I can get out of my system. I also seen a few DVDs and I'll write up some reviews about them as well.

Well, time to get back and start cleaning up and preparing to be productive. Over the next few days (sooner or later), at least a new editorial will go up on my website. Was enjoying my vacation... Good things have to come to an end some day. Blah.
