Doom 3 Test Settings
- All benchmarks are done once and then a reboot follows to test the next setting. Running more than once introduces caching performance results. Running benchmark only once provides raw performance instead of mixed raw plus caching performances (which equals inflated benchmark numbers due to caching in memory).
- All default configurations in Doom 3 (e.g. Low, Medium, High, Ultra High). Only changed is anti-aliasing (enabled/disabled) for certain benchmarks.
- No variable tweakings in Doom 3. Stock configuration.
- Resolutions tested: 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, and 1280x1024
- Use of timedemo demo1 command for benchmarking via desktop Doom 3 shortcut: +timedemo demo1 which goes straight to timedemo instead of having to keep on typing timedemo demo1 into console every time new benchmark to be done. For an example: "C:\Program Files\Games\Doom 3\Doom3.exe" +timedemo demo1

Overclocking Settings
- CPU: FSB of 250 MHz (RAM at 200 MHz) and maximum at 256.6 MHz (RAM at 205 MHz), no voltage increase either settings; resulting 3.0 GHz and 3.08 GHz respectively. Ratio of 5:4 was used.
- RAM: Timing lowered to 2-5-3-2, no voltage increase.
- Video: Core: 400.5 MHz Memory: 353.25 MHz, no voltage increase. Unfortunately, I can't get core or memory any higher with stock air cooling without any artifacts (red and white dots) showing up in the benchmarks.

Misc. Stuff
- AGP aperture size: 128 MB
- Defragged prior to Doom 3 installation, defragged after Doom 3 installation
- Game installed on Maxtor HDD
- No background programs running (e.g. antivirus, AIM, etc...)
- RAM configured as dual channel mode. Default timing is 2-8-3-3, but IC7-G supports it as 2-7-3-3.
- Swap file (paging file) is a continuous 1024 MB file on 2nd HDD, Western Digital 250 GB UDMA/ATA-100 7200 RPM 8 MB Cache (model: WD2500JBRTL)
- Video card settings: 8X AGP, VPU Recovery off, Fast Write off; Everything else default
- Typical benchmarking goes like this: Wait for Windows to finish loading completely, no HDD activity, execute Doom 3 straight into benchmark's timedemo via desktop shortcut, record fps result, change setting, reboot computer, repeat.
