Not many people know what hyperhidrosis means or even what is it. Not even I until I found out what it was. After I found out what
it was, I was one of its victims. This is something that you do not want to have nor is it a good thing.
For an average human being, the body perspires to regulate the body from overheating. For others, there is a condition called
hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis is defined as abnormal excessive sweating. To give you an idea what hyperhidrosis is, under
hyperhidrosis condition, a person would sweat more than what is really needed to cool the body down. Additional to this, the person
can also sweat when the body doesn't need to cool down - the body can sweat anytime it feels like it, even if it's already cool,
which is a major problem. Hyperhidrosis is traced back to hereditary, as in a family member having such condition.
Hyperhidrosis can happen anywhere in the body, but excessive sweating are found at the palm of each hands, the sole of the
feet, armpits, and the face. The hyperhidrosis condition is not temporary. I had hyperhidrosis for about 7 years (1995-2001) and
I doubt it'll ever stop in days, months, or many years down the road of my life if I never had surgery.
My hyperhidrosis conditions are as follows: Palmer (palms) & plantar (feet) hyperhidrosis. The palm of my hands and feet
just sweat like crazy and doesn't stop when the body cools down, it just keeps going until it wants to stop. The time for the
process of sweating stopping was at random and uncontrollable. There was no pattern to it at all. I wouldn't just sweat because my
body was hot or warm, but I would also sweat if I were to be nervous, scared, thinking of some thoughts of sweating or anything
related to being scared or nervousness, or the best thing of all, doing nothing to bring on the sweat. I sweat regardless if I was
cool or warm.
Most of the time (later on in the sections below), I will refer to my palm of my hands sweating, but not the feet. Regardless
of this, my feet does sweat, but it doesn't have a lot of impact on my life as does the palm of my hands does. My sweaty hands are
what gives me a harder time in life than my feet does. My feet doesn't interact with objects more than my hands do. So, I may omit
the feet many times and just talk about my hands, but my feet do sweat at the same time if my hands were to sweat at all.
In the following Hyperhidrosis section, I have the following to offer:
My Life Before Surgery: In this part, I describe how I went through my life when I had
hyperhidrosis up to when I had surgery.
Fight For Cure: In this part, I describe how I got started to look for a cure for
hyperhidrosis, leading me to surgery.
Surgery: In this part, I describe how surgery went and the aftermath of it.
Surgery Analysis: In this part, I give out information about my thoughts, surgical procedure,
information about where I got my operation from, and the pros and cons.
Links: In this part, I give links to other web pages or websites related to hyperhidrosis.
