Welcome to Holy Rosary Life Teen!LIFE TEEN is a Catholic high school youth group that is designed to lead teens closer to Christ. We meet each Sunday at 5:30 pm for mass after, we head to the parish center for fellowship over a delicious meal. Following dinner, we move into our Life Night. The Life Night generally begins around 6:45 and runs until 8:45 pm. Life Nights cover many subjects including the catechism and social issues. We even have many social life nights which bring our teens closer together. No matter the subject, we always try to include our teens in an interactive way. Sessions are filled with skits and music as well as time for prayer and meditation. LIFE TEEN's Mission Statement: Life Teen is an international Catholic movement that serves the Church by providing resources and faith experiences that help lead teens closer to Christ. This is accomplished through a vibrant Eucharistic spirituality and by creating widespread opportunities for teens to grow in their faith. |

Notes from Your Youth Minister: (Karri's Blog) To view previous postings click here The following reflection was created for our parish bulletin for May 30, 2009 Pentecost and Our Universal Church Reflection by Karri Reiser, Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry Pentecost has always been one of my favorite feast days. As a lector at my pervious parish, I would always hope that my lector duty would fall on the Sunday of Pentecost. Many of my fellow lectors, my mother in law included thought I was nuts. With names like Mesopotamia, Cappadocia, and Phrygia laced with in the text, it’s no wonder that if I wasn’t originally scheduled, I’d at least get the call to substitute. For me the difficult names didn’t matter, the challenge was worth it in order to have the chance to proclaim the birth of our church. Just think over 2000 years ago the Holy Spirit settled upon the apostles and gave them the gifts they needed to begin and lead our church. This week’s reading also reminds me of how universal our church was from the very beginning. With those hard to pronounce places came disciples who represented many different backgrounds, languages and regions. God wants our church to be universal – That was how he started it. The concept of the universal church never really hit me until the summer when I attended World Youth Day 2008 in Sydney, Australia. There I was introduced to Catholic from all over the world including places like Korea, Vietnam, Ireland, Italy, and Africa. On Saturday evening each of us from our different backgrounds, races, social status and countries sat before our Lord in Adoration. Not one of us hampered by translation. Jesus was present to us in every language. As you celebrate Pentecost, take the time to thank God for the 2 billion brothers and sisters from all over the world that he has blessed you with and that together in the Eucharist we can have one big family reunion. Have a wonderful week, Karri
