Deacon Rudy Brazil
Deacon Rudy is our "Senior Deacon." He was ordained a Permanent Deacon on September 26, 1987 for service to the Diocese of Oakland and assigned to Holy Spirit Parish for Liturgical and Sacramental Ministries. Rudy was born in Fremont, graduated from Washington High School and San Jose State College. He served 14 years in the US Navy as a Lieutenant Commander during WWII. He has been a parishioner of Holy Spirit since his birth. He was the Director of Religious Education for many years. Presently he is the Fremont Police and Fire Department Chaplains and a Chaplain at Washington Hospital.
Deacon Bill
Deacon Bill was ordained a Permanent Deacon on February 25, 1995 by Bishop John Cummins for service to the Diocese of Oakland and assigned to Holy Spirit Parish. Bill was born in Chicago, Illinois. Bill and his wife, Joni, settled in Fremont after serving 3 years in the US Army. They have three children; Holly, Matt and Joey; and granddaughter, Amber. Bill retired from his Silicon Valley job to become the full-time Director of Religious Education in the Faith and Formation Department of Holy Spirit. He also chairs the Capital Campaign Project to build a Religious Education Center Facility that will break-ground in 2005. Joni is a nurse at the Veteran Administration Hospital in Palo Alto. She is a Eucharistic Minister at mass.
Deacon Chuck

Deacon Chuck was ordained a Permanent Deacon on November 1, 2008 by Bishop Allen Vigneron and assigned to Holy Spirit Parish.  Chuck was raised in the small lumber town of McCloud in Northern California at the foot of Mt. Shasta.  He met his wife Sherry at H&R Block where they were both working part time while attending school.  They were married in 1967 shortly after Chuck joined the Air Force.  He served in Wichita, Kansas and one year overseas prior to discharge when he returned to school.  He continued his studies part time while working and graduated from San Jose State University in 1977.  During the period of his education Chuck and Sherry were blessed with the birth of their two sons, Charlie and Ian.  Both sons are currently living in the Bay Area.  In the 1990’s, after their sons moved out of the home, Chuck and Sherry returned to school where Chuck earned his MBA and Sherry earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business.  Both Chuck and Sherry are currently employed full time as Human Resource/Administration Directors in local area firms as well as their ministries and activities at Holy Spirit Parish.  Chuck will be come involved in various current ministries at Holy Spirit as well as being active in starting new ones.  His Social Justice assignment will be in the Domestic Violence area where he will be serving those directly in need as well as performing outreach and education programs. 
Deacon Richard


Deacon Richard was ordained a Permanent Deacon on February 25, 1995 by Bishop John Cummins and assigned to Holy Spirit Parish. Richard was born in San Francisco and grew up in San Jose. After serving 4 years in the US Army, and after marrying Esther in 1961, they moved to Fremont in 1963. They have three children and five grandchildren. Richard early-retired after working 33 years for Lockheed and now devotes all his time to the Diaconate and Holy Spirit Parish. He coordinates the annual Parish Mission speakers and interviews parents when they want their child baptised.  He serves at the Mass each week and presides at funeral vigils and baptisms. Besides Esther, his passion is working on Holy Spirit's parish web site and creating a new parish bulletin cover each week. Esther brings Holy communion to the sick and trains and assigns ministers to bring Communion to the home bound. She is a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister at mass.
