Staff Members
4th Annual Staff Planning, 2009
Holy Spirit's staff members and deacon wives gathered at the home and back yard of Deacon Bill and Joni Drobick in August 2009, for the annual staff team building and offsite workshop and retreat.
This year Stephaney Moore, Living your Strength consultant, spoke on the five personal and unique strengths each one of us possess within us. Through the process we recognized our unique talents, coupled with personal skills that produces our individual strengths that can be effectively used in ministry.
Also on our full two day agenda was the Pastoral Council five year plan. We discussed, set goals and prioritized many items in the category of Liturgy and Spirituallity, Education, Community and Outreach, and Administration. The results of these tabulated items are now in the hands of the staff members to process and impliment.
Pastoral Associate
Deacon Steve Taylor retired from his career at Wells Fargo Bank to become the Pastoral Associate of the parish. His duties cover the plant maintenance and maintenance workers. He is the Director of RCIA and leads the Little Rock Scripture groups. His other concerns are to social justice issues and the poor of our community. He has become the right hand to Fr. Mathew.
Executive Secretary
Kendee Sigmon is our financial bookkeeper and performs many other secretarial duties for the priests, deacons, staff, and parishioners. She is a great asset to the operation of the rectory. Kendee has two daughters. Her older daughter, Sarina, was the 2005 Festival Queen.
Rectory Receptionist/Secretary
Rose Dayleg answers the phone when you call the rectory office. She creates & produces the weekly bulletin on her computer. She maintains & updates all permanent records; consisting of baptisms, funerals, marriages & membership registrations. Her daily job description is endless. She has great skills & marvelous patience, especially in handling the constant inquiries on the phone & at the door.
Director of Religious Education
Deacon Bill Drobick is the director of the Faith Formation department (formally called CCD). He coordinates the confirmation program and volunteer classroom teachers to provide Catholic education to public school students. Additionally, he is the driving force of Capital Campaign project to build a Religious Education Center facility that will be dedicated in 2009.
Director of Sacred Music
Kerey Quaid is in charge of all liturgical music at our masses & funerals. He cantors at several masses and leads the choir at the 11:00am Mass. He leads the children's choir. Kerey plays the organ, piano, recorder and other instruments.
Holy Spirit School Principal
Joining us in September 2007, Susan Buchanan is our school principal. Orginally from the suburbs of Chicago, Susan has been teaching in Catholic elementary and high schools since 1970. She was a principal for 6 years in Arcata & Benicia, CA, before coming to Holy Spirit.
Director of Pre-School
Liana Morales is the director of our pre-school. She has part-time and full time pre-schoolers in her facility and under her care. There are about 36 pre-schoolers in the classes.
