Just about everybody from HSSW seems to be making movies or getting script requests or both these days and that is a good thing. Fellow members have worked hard and they deserve the recognition - and here's some more:

Let's start with the obvious - HSSW Alum Mary Trainor-Brigham wrote a book "Deep Cinema, Film as Shamanic Initiation" (now available on Amazon) (and you can read my review here - it's the one that titled "Refreshingly new and deeply insightful"

And on the subject of books - HSSW Alum Peter Clenott published his first novel "Hunting The King" (read about it on his website) and anther novel from another alum Erica Ferencik titled "Cracks In The Foudation" and friend of HSSW Esther Luttrell's book "Murder In The Movies" is available Here

David Bratton's 'Threshold' picked by USC for production in the fall! He writes "We had the pitch this morning, just heard back that we were accepted. thank you very much for your help, and I'll let you know how things turn out (We're given $10k by the school, and we'll be shooting the film next fall. Next 3 months will be consumed by re-writes. " (I love hearing about rewrites!)

Speaking of rewrites - Jean-Paul Ouellette & Dan McDuffie are moving forward with their screenplay "Public House" and by the time I post this I expect the papers will have been signed.

Lorre Fritchy has been working hard on "Millies" - reviewed in January - and you can read all about it at www.milliesmovie.com and you'll be able to read more in the Imagine Magaizine article about their testing the Red camera.

And HSSW Alum Nina Davenport had a new documentary running at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge titled "Operation Filmmaker" It's been well reviewed so watch for it on tv, dvd or a theater near you!

And long time HSSW memeber Don Levesque writes "Check out http://www.moondancefilmfestival.com/41b-Finalists_Written.html "The Boathouse" was a semi-finalist at Moondance and "Joe Steele" is going to the finals! Thank you God!"

YAY DON!!!

and HSSW Alum Neil Gaughan's script "Pick Your Poison" is a CineStory Finalist!

(just a note all 3 scripts - or some earlier version of them - were reviewed by HSSW - Ed.) And Finally - David Mauriello is continuing to develop the film project "Just Say Love" based on his wonderful and touchingly romantic play of the same name. The play is being produced in Maine through September - find out more at the website www.justsaylove.com

That's all so far - watch for updates and changes as I'm sure to have forgotten something.
