GREETERS MINISTRY
Liturgy,
which is the work of the people, flourishes best in an atmosphere of
hospitality and friendliness in the community that gathers together for
worship. The community, then, is one of
the most important symbols in the celebration of good liturgy. Therefore, how the community that prays
together is treated is especially important.
The extending of hospitality and of a gracious welcome to all who gather
at Holy Trinity is a basic ministry of service that all Christians should
extend to one another.
We
have established a Greeters Group that has been serving our community for eight
years. Our greeters welcome all who
gather for worship at our weekend liturgies and other special celebrations like
holy days, penance service, etc. The
warmth of their smiles and the enthusiasm of their greetings help those who
gather for worship to feel a part of our community. This is a marvelous ministry to serve in if
you should like to get to know your fellow parishioners. We welcome men, women, teens, younger
children and families to serve in this ministry. We currently have about 220 greeters.
