Hi VG Swimmers!
*******************
Hello All,
I think I’m in complete denial that the season is starting in just 3 weeks!!! Yes, I’d better get my butt in gear!
We’ve had our league meeting to set the meet dates and the coaching staff is ready to go! You’ll all be glad to hear that Chris Smith will be joining us again as head coach! We’ll have to work hard to top the picture below, so start thinking of your wacky spirit dinner gifts for the coaches now! Our assistant coach is Alisha LeBlanc and she has a number of years experience teaching kids to swim, and is ready for a fun summer as well.
Our Fee this summer will be $110 per swimmer. Make sure that any check you make out is to Village Green Swim Team, and NOT to Splash Pool Services. Having our funds go through Splash last summer made things more complicated, so to simplify, please just make checks out to the swim team and make sure they end up in my hands. If you need to leave a check at the pool office, just put it in an envelope with “Jim Hulings” on it. Thanks!
Practice times
will be similar to last year:
11 years of age and older will practice starting at
10 years of age and under
will practice starting at
Meets and other
events:
NO Wednesday meets this year! For our two home meets we will need lots of volunteers to make things run smoothly. More on that later.

Summer swim season 2008 is almost here. We continue to be part of Fort Collins Recreational League, so all our swim meets will be local and easy to get to! And again, most of our meets will be Saturday mornings, with a maybe 2 on Wednesday mornings.
The league organizational meeting is not until April 28th, so we will not have a meet schedule and final fees until after that date.
Last year our fee per swimmer was $100. We didn’t quite break even last year, so the fee will probably have to go up just a little, but no more than $10. That is still quite competitive with other pools, especially considering this is the fee whether you belong to the pool or not (still the best neighborhood pool in town!).
Our
great coach from last year, Chris Smith, is interested in coaching again. This will be finalized over the next few
weeks. Needs more green paint, don’t you
think?
Please consider inviting your friends to join the team… the more kids, the more fun we have!!

As usual, please contact Jim Hulings with any questions at hulings@comcast.net, or the team email is starting to warm up again at vggators@gmail.com . I’ll be posting more info as I get it.
Thanks,
Jim
