Representative Sam Hunt serves the people of Lacey, Tumwater, Olympia, and northern Thurston County.
As Chair of the State Government and Tribal Affairs Committee and a member of the Appropriations and the
Environmental Health Committees, he is a recognized leader who focuses on key needs our state.
Sam sponsored key bills that have become law, including the Mercury Reduction Act (to remove this dangerous
chemical from our homes, schools and environment), and Puget Sound cleanup legislation. Other prime sponsored
legislation includes on-line voter registration and statewide vote by mail elections. He cosponsored the
constitutional amendment for simple majority passage of school levies.
Washington is one state and should not be divided by east and west. There should be no “Cascade Curtain.”
