Hunting For Bears Genealogy Society
Our primary purpose is to provide easy access to early
marriage records and thereby be of greatest assistance to
reseachers in their genealogical efforts.

Our society collects and maintains large databases of early (pre 1900)
marriage records from 17 eastern, mid-western, and southern states.
We are currently collecting records from seven more states and hope
to have some of them on line in the near future.
We do two things with these records: One, we publish these
records in county marriage index books,
(over 700 to date), microfiche and on CDs. NEW!
Two, surname searches of these large computer databases have
been available to individuals since the late-1960s via
the U. S. Postal Service and now e-mail.
We search our marriage indexes of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia,
Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland,
Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio,
South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia records.
The states list links on the
left are to "Buy Now!" pages where
one may purchase marriage index books, fiche or
CDs safely and securely using a major credit card
thru PayPal (PayPal membership is NOT required),
whereas the two letter links at the top of most
pages is to "Information Pages" for marriage indexes
for the indicated state. The similar links at the bottom
of most pages allows you to navigate between the
"County Index Book Order Forms".
