William Clark was born at New Hampshire on 16 August 1771.1,2,3 He was the son of Levi Clark and Elizabeth (--?--). William Clark married at Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 16 November 1797, at age 26, Deborah Huntress, of Barnstead, daughter of Noah Huntress and Abigail Pickering.4,5,6 William Clark died on 28 January 1857 at age 85.
In 1798 William Clark of Barnstead bought 50 acres and buildings bounded by the road to Plymouth and Squam Pond, and in 1801 38 acres in Centre Harbour, part of lot 5, range 2, beginning near the S.W. corner of Holderness, running thence W. along the Holderness line, thence nearly S. to lands of Stephen Hawkins, thence E. along Hawkins' line, thence nearly N. to the place of beginning.4,7,8 He resided at Barnstead, Belknap County, New Hampshire, in 1798. William Clark was a yeoman at Centre Harbour, Strafford County, New Hampshire, in 1801. William Clark was listed as the head of a family on the 1810 Census at Centre Harbour, Strafford County, New Hampshire. In his family were two males under 10 years of age (John and James), one between 26 and 45 (William), one female under 10 (Elizabeth), and one between 26 and 45 (Deborah).
