     John Emerson Enos was born at Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts, on 11 March 1917.2,1 He was the son of Benjamin Butler Enos and Elizabeth Tucker Huntress.1 John Emerson Enos died at Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association's Hospice House, Concord, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, on 1 November 2005 at age 88.1
      He studied at Chauncy Hall School in Boston, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He served in the Army for three years during World War II in the Army Transportation Corps, performing military railroad service primarily in India and Burma.
He spent his 35-year career as a service engineer and field representative, first for the Boston and Maine Railroad, and then for the New York Air Brake Company. During this period he lived in Concord, Salem, Mass., Laconia, and Hartsdale, N.Y. Upon his retirement in 1982, he and his wife moved to Bow. They had met in Concord.
He was an avid hobbyist and golfer. His pursuits included being a licensed ham radio operator, model railroading, genealogy (he is descended from William Bradford who traveled to the U.S. on the Mayflower), and active membership for 18 years in the Concord Country Club.1 He resided at Concord, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, on 1 November 2005.1
