Enoch Huntress was baptized at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire, on 3 November 1747 by Rev. Joseph Adams.1 He was the son of Jonathan Huntress and Mary Walker.1 Enoch Huntress (of Rye) married at Greenland, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 19 April 1770, at age 22, Deborah Nutter, age 19, daughter of Samuel Nutter and Mary Downing.2,3 Enoch Huntress died at Strafford, Strafford County, New Hampshire, on 6 March 1821 at age 73.4
He resided at Rye, New Hampshire.2 He was taxed at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, in 1767. He owned the Covenant at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire, on 23 December 1770.5 He took the Association Test at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, in 1776.6 Enoch Huntress was a yeoman at Barrington, Strafford County, New Hampshire, in 1777.2 In 1777 Enoch Huntress and Deborah his wife conveyed her right in the estate of Samuel Nutter, deceased, father of Deborah and he bought 42 acres at Barrington, lot 148 in the fourth range.7,8,2 Enoch Huntress was a soldier in the Revolution as a private in Capt. John Dennett's 7th Company 3rd New Hampshire Regiment on 11 March 1777 discharged 11 mar 1780.9 Enoch Huntress was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census at Barrington, Strafford County, New Hampshire. In his family were one male over 16 years of age (Enoch and George), two under (Enoch and unk), and two females (Deborah and unk).10
