     James Edward Huntress was born at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, on 30 April 1844.2,3,4,5 He was the son of Edward Tredick Huntress and Mary Elizabeth Adams.2 James Edward Huntress married at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 1 January 1868, at age 23, Mary Ellen Whidden, age 22, daughter of Joseph Whidden 2nd and Ann Mary Tucker, ceremony performed by R. P. Ambler, clergyman.2 James Edward Huntress died of a cerebral hemorrhage at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, on 28 January 1923 at age 78 years, 8 months and 29 days.3,6
He was buried at Tomb — South Cemetery, Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 29 January 1923.3

     James K P Huntress was born at Granville, Addison County, Vermont, on 18 June 1846.1,2,3,4,5,6,7 He was the son of Gideon David Huntress and Elizabeth B Merritt.1 James K P Huntress married at Geneva, Walworth County, Wisconsin, on 1 January 1868, at age 21, Mary Ellen New, age 17, daughter of Levi Sperry New and Matilda Amarilla Darling.7,5,8 James K P Huntress died at Soldiers Home, Sandusky, Erie County, Ohio, on 25 February 1916 at 12:45 p.m. in ward A of the hospital at age 69. He was admitted to the veterans home from Berlin Heights on 4 Oct 1914 and had been in failing health..9,10,11 He funeral was held at Berlin Heights, Erie County, Ohio, on 28 February 1916. Sam and Geo. Huntress, of Toledo, Mrs. Frank Tennet and son Levi, of Cleveland, Mrs. Joe Currier, of Dover, and Joe Dorr, of Milan, attended the funeral.12
     He was a soldier in the Civil War (Co. B, 1st Wisc. Heavy Artillery).13,14,15 He mustered into Company B, 1st Wisc. Captain James Lewis Huntress, proprietor of the Sentor house, Centre Harbor, N. H., died at Hot Springs, Arkansas, Friday afternoon of last week, aged 64 years. Mr. Huntress was a native of Portsmouth, N. H., and for several years he was connected with the American house in this city, and has been landlord of the Bates house, Indianapolis, Ind., the Franklin house, Lawrence, the Lowell Island house, and in 1854 he took the house which he controlled at the time of his death. He was at one time captain of the Lowell City Guards. For the past few years he suffered with rheumatism, and had sought relief at the West. He leaves a widow, two sons—Mr. George L. Huntress of Boston and Mr. Henry Huntress of Centre Harbor, N. H.—and a daughter. The remains were brought to this city Thursday and placed in the tomb at the Lowell cemetery.13
On 15 May 1887 J. L. Huntress & Son advertised rooms to rent for their summer resort on Lake Winnipesaukee, Center Harbor, Belknap County, New Hampshire.18

     Jane Huntress was born at York, York County, Maine, on 12 July 1796. She was the daughter of George Huntress and Jane Warren. Jane Huntress married as his second wife at Bolton, Worcester County, Massachusetts, on 29 January 1835, at age 38, Willard Walcott, age 43, son of Ephraim Walcott and Elizabeth Baker.1 Jane Huntress died on 18 May 1895 s.p.v. at age 98 years, 10 months and 6 days.
     Jane Walcott, 83 was listed on the 1880 Census at 47 Revere Street, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, living with her neice Elizabeth Storey and family.2 In a newspaper article 14 November 1888: "Mrs. Jane Huntress, of Augusta, Me., 92 years of age, still does her own cooking, washing, ironing and garden work. Since she was 55 she has earned the money for and built a fine house, going herself to the mill and selecting the lumber, and superintending the building operations. She is one of twelve children, all born without the aid of a physician."3,4,5

     Jane Elizabeth Huntress was born at Lyman, York County, Maine, on 18 July 1820. She was the daughter of James Huntress and Abigail Hooper. Jane Elizabeth Huntress married (intentions) at Biddeford, York County, Maine, on 17 November 1849, at age 29, Henry Albert Rumery, age 29, (both) of Biddeford, son of Thomas Edward Rumery and Elizabeth Wadlin.1 Jane Elizabeth Huntress died on 30 March 1899 at age 78.

     Jane F. Huntress was born at Effingham, Carroll County, New Hampshire, on 6 March 1836.2 She was the daughter of Robert H. Huntress and Elizabeth W. Sayward. Jane F. Huntress married on 29 August 1866, at age 30, George Greenleaf, age 24, son of Stephen Greenleaf and Frances Taylor.3,4 Jane F. Huntress died on 30 October 1870 at age 34.5,4
