    I searched the section that Kate is buried. No marker is visible. I have asked the cemetery to mark the grave and look for a marker. She was buried as 'Abby Kate Huntress' and is buried next to John Sanborn Huntress. Kate was buried on 5/17/1960, and John was buried on 5/31/1937. God bless you.

     Jonathan Huntress was baptized at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire, on 19 March 1727 by Rev. Joseph Adams.1 He was the son of John Huntress and Mary (--?--).1 Jonathan Huntress married at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire, on 5 February 1747, at age 19, Mary Walker, age 19, daughter of Edward Walker and Deliverance Gaskin, ceremony performed by Rev. Joseph Adams.2,3 Jonathan Huntress died probably before 1790.
      Jonathan Huntress was a yeoman at Newington, New Hampshire. He or his son applied for a Revolutionary War Pension.4 On 20 November 1745 he was a soldier at Louisburg in King George's War in Col. Moore's Company, Col. Moore's Regiment of Foot.5,6,7 On 29 May 1750 Jonathan Huntress By his father's will of 1748, proved 29 May 1750, he had his father's farm at Newington held in common with Samuel2 Huntress (his uncle) until partition in 1758.8 His deed of on 15 May 1758 mentions his brother-in-law Guideon Walker who married Eleanor Bickford. Beginning in 1758 and ending in 1761 he sold it in various parcels, the southerly part to his brother-in-law Guideon Walker, the northerly part along the river to John Stevens, husband of his first cousin once removed Elizabeth Huntress. His name does not again appear on the record of deeds. He is not in the Census of 1790..9

     Corp. Jonathan Huntress was baptized at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire, on 18 August 1751 by Rev. Joseph Adams.1 He was the son of Jonathan Huntress and Mary Walker.1 Corp. Jonathan Huntress married say 1774, Unknown (--?--). Corp. Jonathan Huntress died at Newton, New York, on 29 August 1779 (killed by Indians) at age 28.2,3
      The name of his wife has not been found. The children were baptized as children of Jonathan Hunt.4 First appears on tax list in 1772 at Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He was a soldier in the Revolution enlisted first from Portsmouth on 18 June 1775 as a private with Capt. Richard Shortridge's 10th Company in Col. Enoch Poor, Esq.'s Second Regiment of Foot for the Colony of New Hampshire; at Medford, 4 Oct 1775; then in Capt Titus Salter's Company of Artillery at Fort Washington 5 Nov 1775; in Capt. James Arnold's Company, Col. Joshua Wingate's Regiment at Ticonderoga 1776, where he received 10/6/4 for wages, bounty, and travel; in Capt. Hawkin's Company; in Capt. Samuel Blodgett's Company in Col. Enoch Poor's Regiment, from Newington, receiving 20/16/8 for state bounty and travel to Charlestown No. 4; and was made a corporal in 1779.5 He took the Association Test at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.6

     Joseph Huntress was baptized at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire, on 28 April 1734 by Rev. Joseph Adams.1 He was the son of Samuel Huntress and Abigail Ham.1 Joseph Huntress married at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on 25 December 1755, at age 21, Sobriety Tobey.2 Joseph Huntress died at Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 15 July 1804 at age 70.3,4
      He had by his father's will of 1758 one third of the 40-acre farm at Newington and one half of the house where John Huntress formerly dwelt.5 He took the Association Test at Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, in 1776.6 Joseph Huntress was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census at Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. In his family were three males 16 years of age (Joseph, John and Samuel), none under, and two females (Sobriety and Mary). He also had one of the fourteen slaves in Newington.7 Joseph Huntress was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census at Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. In his family were one male (Joseph) and one female (Sobriety), each aged 45 and over.8 His will dated 12 June 1804, proved 13 Aug 1804, mentions his wife, unnamed, to whom he gave a life estate in all his property remainder to his sons in equal shares, daughter, wife of Thomas Trickey, daughter, wife of Zebulon Willey, and sons George, John and Samuel, George executor.5

     Joseph Huntress was born at Lyman, Grafton County, New Hampshire, probably circa 1806.1,2 He was the son of John Huntress and Amanda Hadlock. Brooks, Clergyman.19,20 Dr. Joseph Huntress (of Tamworth) married, second, at Tamworth, Carroll County, New Hampshire, on 14 May 1864, at age 44, Julia A Wallace, age 31, of Charlestown, N.H., daughter of David S. Wallace and Emily B. Hadley, and widow of George Slade, ceremony performed by Samuel H. Vol., filing from the state of New Hampshire.30 "The city [of Gloucester, MA] is fortunate in the possession of two homes for the dependent aged. The Huntress Home on Prospect Street was purchased in 1887, for $12,000. It was erected a few years before as a private residence and was considered the finest of the kind in the city. Its cost was $30,000. It was purchased by money bequeathed for the purpose by Joseph Huntress, a native of Gloucester, who resided in Boston. Inmates are restricted to old ladies, natives of the town.31 " On 16 October 1893, an unknown person , widow of Joseph as a surgeon in the Civil War, who served in Company (Contract, Surg. U. S. Vol.) of filed for a Civil War widows pension from the state of New Hampshire.32

     Joseph Chick Huntress was baptized at Church of Newington, Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 16 June 1771 by Rev. Joseph Adams.1 He was the son of Nathan Huntress and Susanna Chick.1 Joseph Chick Huntress married at Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 29 October 1797, at age 26, Mary Chick, daughter of Thomas Chick.3,2 Joseph Chick Huntress died probably between 1820 and 1830.4
     He resided at Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. Joseph Chick Huntress was a farmer at Parsonsfield, York County, Maine, in 1800. Joseph C. Huntress was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census at Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. In his family were one male between 16 and 26 (Joseph, 29), one female under 10 (Hannah), and one between 16 and 26 (Mary).5 He bought 47 acres in Parsonsfield, Me 1802.6 Joseph C. Huntress was listed as the head of a family on the 1810 Census at Parsonsfield, York County, Maine. In his family were one male less than 10 years of age (unk), one between 26 and 45 (Joseph). This does not correlate to his family at all.7 Joseph C. Huntress was listed as the head of a family on the 1820 Census at Parsonsfield, York County, Maine. In his family were one male over 45 years of age (Joseph), two females between 10 and 16 (Sarah and Abigail), one between 16 and 26 (probably Elsie), and one over 45 (Mary?, 41). His daughter Mary was probably not enumerated.8

S. Huntress and Ella Cannon.1 Joseph Edwin Huntress died on 29 August 1881 at age 2 months and 24 days.1
