      Joseph Langdon Huntress was a farmer at Sandwich, Carroll County, New Hampshire, in 1850.1,6 He was a soldier in the Civil War (Co K, 14th N.H. Reccord, Clergyman.6,7 Joseph Warren Huntress Jr. (of Cambridge, MA) married at Maine on 3 September 1933, at age 36, Emma Lichter, of Watertown, MA.8 Joseph Warren Huntress Jr. married before 1945, Jean Alfhild Guerdrum, daughter of George Hagbart Guerdrum and Alfhild Schmidt.9,10 Joseph Warren Huntress Jr. died at Golden Age Nursing Home, Boerne, Kendall County, Texas, on 18 March 1964 of uremia due to prostatic hypertrophy due to congestive heart failure and cerderal arteriosclerosis at age 67.11,3,5,12 He was buried at Mission Burial Park, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, on 21 March 1964.3,11
     He was veteran of WWI.3 He and Rev. Joseph W Huntress were possibly relatives. Joseph Warren Huntress Jr. was employed by U. S. Government Deptment of Engineering Central on 5 June 1918 at 230 East Ohio Street, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.2 He was described as medium height and slender with brown eyes and hair on 5 June 1918.2 He registered for the draft at 400 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, on 5 June 1918.2 He and Mary Olson resided at 38 Edson Street, Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, on 5 June 1918.2 Joseph Warren Huntress Jr. was a civil engineer for the government at Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, in 1920.5 1st Lt. J. W. Huntress, Jr., Q.M.C. was given 2 months and 15 days leave.13 He resided at Rt. #13, Box #698, Perrin-Beitel Rd, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, on 18 March 1964.3,11

     Joshua Huntress was baptized at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire, on 21 June 1752 by Rev. Joseph Adams.1 He was the son of William Huntress and Susanna Downing.1 Joshua Huntress died unmarried before 1792. Susanna, widow of William Huntress, Lydia Swett, Sarah Huntress, Abigail Dame and Temperance Huntress conveyed their shares in the estate of William Huntress deceased to Joel Leighton. There are no similar conveyances by Samuel nor Joshua Huntress who were then probably dead. The deeds were recorded in 1792 (Rockingham Deeds). In 1793 Leighton conveyed the farm formerly of William Huntress to Gideon Walker (Rockingham Deeds)..2

     Capt. Joshua Lang Huntress was born at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on 29 April 1753.1,4 He was the son of George Huntress and Sarah Lang.3 Capt. Joshua Lang Huntress married at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 7 January 1779, at age 25, his second cousin once removed (Sarah Hodsdon and John Morrell were her great grandparents and his 2nd great grandparents) Anna A. Morrell, age 29, daughter of Robert Morrell and Patience Weymouth.5,4 Capt. Joshua Lang Huntress died at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 21 December 1802 at age 49.6,7,8,4 He was buried at Point of Graves Cemetery, Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, his gravestone reads:

      Capt. Joshua Lang Huntress was a block maker at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.10 Capt. Joshua Lang Huntress first appears on the tax list in 1774 at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. He was a soldier in the Revolution in the Field Artillery Company of Capt. George Turner as mustered by Maj. Hackett from Portsmouth on 17 January 1776.11,12

Leonard Huntress and Lydia Ann McKinnon.1 Kate Huntress married, as his second wife, at Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts,, on 2 December 1868, at age 33, Col. George Washington Dyer, age 44, of Washington, D.C., U.S. Army officer, son of Jones Dyer and Lydia Knight, ceremony performed by S. F. Upham, Clergyman.1 Kate Huntress died quite suddenly in the evening at Elsmere Hotel, Washington, Washington County, District of Columbia, on 26 February 1902 after a brief illness of pneumonia at age 66.7,8

      Kate Huntress was a teacher in 1860.9 She resided at Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on 2 December 1868.1 She was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census at 1325 Vermont Avenue, Washington, Washington County, District of Columbia.6
