A. Minter and Louisa (--?--), ceremony at 8 p. m. performed by the Rev. Dr. E. H. Perry.8,9,10,11 Katherine Logan Huntress died in December 1980 at age 72.2

Colby and Mary A. Colby. (Formerly Colbath).2 Laura A Huntress died of consumption at Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts, on 29 April 1885 at age 40.3

Huntress, and daughter of Susan Hodgdon).3,4,1,5,6,7 She was the daughter of Simon Huntress and Susan Jellison.1 Laura A Huntress died at the home of her niece at 202 Hillcrest Rd, Berkeley, Alameda County, California, on 22 January 1921 at age 82.8

     Hon. Leonard Huntress was born at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 22 November 1811.7,8,9,10,11,2,3,12,13 He was the son of Joseph Patteson Huntress and Sarah Chesley.6 Hon. Leonard Huntress of Lowell, Mass. married at Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on 22 September 1833, at age 21, Lydia Ann McKinnon, age 21, of Portsmouth, daughter of William McKinnon and Elizabeth Pickernell, ceremony performed by R. H. Deming, clergyman.14,1,2,3,15,16 Hon. Leonard Huntress died at his residence at Tewksbury, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in the morning on 19 July 1885 at age 73.17,6

DEATH OF LEONARD HUNTRESS.
Leonard Huntress, for twenty-seven years County Commissioner of Middlesex county, died at his residence in Tewksbury on Sunday morning, aged about 74 years. He was born in Rochester, N. H., and learned the printer's trade in the office of the Portsmouth Journal. He went to Lowell in 1832 and worked for Eliphalet Case, and afterward published the Lowell Journal and Courier. During his newspaper experience, he was a journalist of considerable power. He sold this paper to the late Adjutant General Schouler, and after engaging in various other pursuits went to North Tewksbury to live on account of failing health. In 1848 he was elected county commissioner and had been chairman most of the time since. He was elected one of the selectmen of the town almost as soon as be removed to Tewksbury and was chairman on the board ten years ago. He had led a busy life, spending much time on his farm, managing estates and in public business. For sixteen years be was a director in the Citizen's Mutual Fire company and for several years was employed by the Locks & Canals company as arbitrator of claims. He was a member of Ancient York Lodge of Masons. He leaves three children, Mrs. George W. Dyer of Washington, D. C., Frank Huntress of Rutland, Vt., and Dr. Leonard Huntress, Jr., of Lowell. Mr. Huntress had been ill with heart disease for a month.
The funeral look place Tuesday afternoon from his home in North Tewksbury and was attended by a large number of friends and relatives, including many from Lowell and adjoining towns. Brief exercises were held at the house, following which the remains were conveyed to the Baptist church, where services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. M. Pride. Selections were sung by the choir under the direction of Mrs. Fletcher. The funeral was in charge of J. B. Currier and Oliver Clark. At the conclusion of the services the remains were taken to the Lowell cemetery, where services were conducted. The bearers were Hoyt W. Hilton, Jesse Blake, William Miller, Wesley Plummer, Enoch Foster and Joshua Clark.17

     Leslie Herbert Huntress was born at Huntress Farm, Shapleigh, York County, Maine, on 12 August 1931.1,2,3 He was the son of Carl Otis Huntress and Carlotta Maude Dunn.1 Leslie Herbert Huntress married at Newton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on 1 December 1951, at age 20, Lola Mayo, age 21, daughter of Alfred G Mayo and Lola M (--?--).4,1,3 Leslie Herbert Huntress died after a long illness at his home on Beaver Hill Road, Springvale, York County, Maine, on 19 September 1999 at age 68.2,1 He was buried at Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, Kennebec County, Maine.1
      He "lived [at Shapleigh] most of his life. He attended Shapleigh schools and Sanford High School. He worked at the former Goodall-Sanford textile mills for one year, then served in the Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. He later worked at the former Allied Shoe Shop until he went to work as a rigger at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He was employed there from 1966 to 1980, he retired because of ill health.      Levi Huntress was born at Shapleigh, York County, Maine, on 11 December 1805.1 He was the son of Nahum Huntress and Susannah Ricker. Levi Huntress (of Newfield) married at Shapleigh, York County, Maine, (int. 26 Sep 1829) on 15 October 1829, at age 23, Olive Abbott, age 17, of Shapleigh, daughter of Benjamin Abbott and Sophia Ingalls, ceremony performed by William Grafton, Justice of the Peace.2 Levi Huntress died in December 1874.
