     Sarah Jane Huntress married, first, Elisha Shepherd, son of Mary Knox. Sarah Jane Huntress was born at Newfield, York County, Maine, on 14 March 1831.1 She was the daughter of Levi Huntress and Olive Abbott. Sarah Jane Huntress married, as his second wife, on 7 April 1858, at age 27, Simon Tafton, age 53, son of Josiah Tafton and Margaret (--?--). Sarah Jane Huntress died on 16 July 1907 at age 76.

     Sarah Jane Huntress was born between 2 February 1823 and 1 February 1824.1 She was the daughter of Gideon Walker Huntress and Mary A Kelly.1 Sarah Jane Huntress died of scarlet fever at Strafford, Strafford County, New Hampshire, on 1 February 1836.2 She was buried on 4 February 1836.2

     Seth Huntress was baptized at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire, on 27 May 1759 by Rev. Joseph Adams.1 He was the son of Jonathan Huntress and Mary Walker.1 Seth Huntress (of Portsmouth) married at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 2 September 1784, at age 25, his second cousin (both descendants of George Huntress and Mary Natt) Sarah Dame, age 31, of Newington, daughter of Eliphalet Dame and Abigail Nutter, ceremony performed by Joseph Buckminster, clergyman.3 Seth Huntress died before 1825.
     He resided at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. He was a soldier in the Revolution in Capt. Eliphalet Daniels' Matross Company, stationed at Fort Sullivan on 4 June 1777.4 First appears on tax list in 1780 at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. Seth Huntress was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census at Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. In his family were one male over 16 years of age (Seth), one under (Gideon and Seth), and five females (Sarah, Martha, Olive, and 2 unk).5 Seth Huntress was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. In his family were two males under 10 (Seth, 12, Gideon, 20, and unk), one between 26 and 45 (Seth), four females under 10 (Martha, 14, Olive, 14, Sarah Ann, 3, and unk), and one 45 and over (Sarah).6 Seth Huntress was listed as the head of a family on the 1810 Census at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. In his family were four males under 10 years of age (William, George, and unk), one between 10 and 16 (unk), one between 16 and 26 (Seth), one over 45 (Seth), one famle under 10 (Ann Sarah), one between 10 and 16 (Sarah Ann), and one between 26 and 45 (Martha). Evidently Sarah, 56, was not enumerated.7

     Solomon Huntress died probably young. He was baptized at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire, on 11 December 1720 by Rev. Joseph Adams.1 He was the son of Samuel Huntress and Abigail Ham.1
      He had by his father's will half a right in Barnstead, remainder if he died without issue to the children of his brother George.

     Solomon Huntress was born at Newington, New Hampshire, on 16 January 1749.2 He was the son of Samuel Huntress and Mary Coleman. Solomon Huntress married at Newmarket, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 17 March 1777, at age 28, Lucy Burleigh, age 22, daughter of Jacob Burleigh and Abigail (--?--), ceremony performed by Nathaniel Ewer, clergyman.3,4,1 Solomon Huntress disappeared in New York State after 4 August 1800.5
      Solomon Huntress was a merchant.5 The births of the first four children and the tenth are recorded as children of Solomon and Lucy Huntress, of the others as children of Solomon and Lucy Hunt.6 In 1775 he was a soldier in the Alarm List in Capt. Sias's Company for London.7 He resided at Canterbury, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, in 1778. Solomon Hunt was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census at Strafford, Orange County, Vermont. In his family were one male over 16 years (Solomon), three under (Samuel, Jacob, and John), and five females (Lucy, Anna, Abigail, Lucy and Mary).8 Solomon Hunt was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census at Norwich, Windsor County, Vermont.      Stephen Patrick Huntress Sr. was born at Biddeford, York County, Maine, on 17 June 1918.6,7,2,3 He was the son of Carl Russell Huntress and Anna Geneva Curley.2,5 Stephen Patrick Huntress Sr. (of Biddeford, ME) married, first, on 10 February 1940, at age 21, Mary Rosella McKay, age 18, of Foxboro, MA.8 Stephen Patrick Huntress Sr. and Mary Rosella McKay were divorced before 10 March 1942.3 Stephen Patrick Huntress Sr. married at Franklin, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, on 21 August 1943, at age 25, Bertha J Buckman, age 22, (both) of Biddeford, Maine, daughter of Charles Edward Buckman and Marie Ott, ceremony performed by Noble O. Bowlby, of Franklin, clergyman.2 Stephen Patrick Huntress Sr. died at Walpole, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, on 18 March 1999 at age 80.6 He was buried at Plains Cemetery, Walpole, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.

     He enlisted in the as a Private in the U.S. Army for the duration of WWII on 10 March 1942 at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, serving for Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.3 Stephen Patrick Huntress Sr. was a soldier on 21 August 1943.2 He resided at 88 West Cutt Street, Biddeford, York County, Maine, on 21 August 1943.2 He and Bertha J Buckman resided at 140 Lincoln Road, Walpole, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, between 1993 and 1999.6,9,10,11
