     William Lane was born at Beaminster, Dorset, England, circa 1581.^2,3 He married by in 1606, Agnes (--?--).³ William Lane died between on 28 February 1650 (date of will) and 05 Jul 1654 (date of inventory) (and probably closer to the latter date).³
     He resided at Dorchester, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, in 1635.¹ He was a passenger to New England on the Hopewell with his wife and son on 8 May 1635.² His will dated 28 February 1650, proved 06 Jul 1654, mentions his daughter Elizabeth wife of his son-in-law Thomas Rider, daughter Mary Long, son Thomas Linckhorne of Hingham, George Lane of Hingham, and son Nathaniel Baker of Hingham.^3,4
