      He was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed a lifelong interest in automobiles and small engine repairs. He worked for Titus Oil Co. and Wilder's Garage before operating/managing Durgin's Service Station until its closing to make way for Interstate 93 in the early 1960s. He then went to work for Deming Chevrolet as service manager. In late 1969, he opened Allen's Tulsa on North Main Street, which he operated for more than 18 years. He then retired to the family home he had built in 1946. He was a lifetime member of the local Elks Lodge.² Maurice Earl Allen was a service station attendant on 12 October 1946.¹ He resided at Fairgrounds Road, Plymouth, Grafton County, New Hampshire, circa 2002.⁴
