Jacob Lord was born at South Berwick, York County, Maine, on 13 March 1746.1 He was the son of James Lord and Sarah Libby. Jacob Lord married, first, at Second Church, Berwick, York County, Maine, on 2 September 1766, at age 20, Mary Clark ceremony performed by pastor Matthew Merriam.2 Jacob Lord married at First Church, Berwick, York County, Maine, on 28 March 1771, at age 25, Mary Huntress, age 18, daughter of Darling Huntress and Love Hearl, ceremony performed by Rev. Jacob Foster.3,4,5,6 Jacob Lord died at Hiram, Oxford County, Maine, after 1800.
He resided at South Berwick, York County, Maine. Jacob Lord inherited by will his father's (James Lord) homestead in South Berwick, Maine in 1772. He sold it on March 12, 1788, to Amos W. Goodwin and on the same date, purchased the Tristram Warren farm. On March 18, 1793, he sold this farm to Darling and Dominicus Huntress and on the same date purchased the Jacob Emery farm in Waterboro, Maine, which was "bounded by land of Moses Goodwin, Widow Heard and Timothy Ricker."
After his wife's death he resided with his daughter Sarah (Lord) Durgin in Hiram, Me.
Their children were born at South Berwick, Me. Jacob Lord was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census at Berwick, York County, Maine. In his family were two males over 16 years of age (Jacob and Darling), two under (Jacob and Hosea and Levi), and seven females (Mary, Sarah, Mary, Hannah, Love, Rhoda and unk).7
