     Nicholas Lord married, secondly, Mercy B. Lock.1 Nicholas Lord was baptized on 8 March 1746/47.1 He was the son of Thomas Lord. Nicholas Lord married, first, at South Berwick, York County, Maine, on 28 September 1765, at age 18, Elizabeth Chick.1 Nicholas Lord died in 1828.1
     He was a soldier in The Revolution in 1780 serving six months at West Point.2

Richard Lord, of Berwick, deceased, joined in marriage with Mary Goodwin (the now wife of Mr. John Cooper, Jr., of the same Berwick), & the said Richd Lord Jr. & Mary Goodwin lived together, as man & wife. 5 or 6 years & had three children: 2 sons & one daughter. The 2 son are dead, & the daughter, Olive, the youngest of the three, is now the wife of Jona. Abbott, Jr., of Berwick.

    S'd Thomas Goodwin was a near neighbor to Capt. Richard Lord and knew Richd Lord, Jr., all his life. His 2 sons died young.

    Elizabeth Gray testified to the truth of above, adding that the oldest son of Richd Lord, Jr., & Mary Goodwin was Daniel, and the second son was Richard. Both died young & unmarried."

     Capt. Richard Lord was born at Kittery, York County, Maine, on 1 March 1684/85.1,2 He was the son of Nathan Lord and Martha Tozier.1 Capt. Richard Lord married in December 1707, at age 22, Mary Goodwin, age 16, daughter of James Goodwin and Sarah Thompson.1 Capt. Richard Lord died in 1754.3
      "He was named, it seems, for Richard Lord of Hartford, Ct., the first of that name in New England, who at the age of twenty-one years sailed from the port of London, Eng., in 1632. He was made a freeman at Cambridge, Mass., March 4, 1635. He settled in Hartford, Ct., in 1636. He was commander of the first company of troopers in the Indian conflicts in that part of New England. He died at New London, Ct., interred in the old burying ground. He was a brother of Robert Lord, mariner, of Boston, Mass., who owned large tracts of land in York County, Me. He was a "Representative to ye great and General Court at Boston, 1657-1661." He died May 17, 1762, aged 51 years."1 He and Mary, his wife, owned the Covenant at First Church, Berwick, York County, Maine, on 20 December 1719.4
