Robert Babcock and Joanna (--?--).1 Jonathan Babcock married at Milton, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, on 1 August 1676, at age 25, Mary Curtis, age 21, daughter of Richard Curtis.3,4 Jonathan Babcock died at Coventry, Tolland County, Connecticut, on 5 January 1732 at age 80.5
      He removed to Connecticut, and was of Lebanon, 1709.3

     Lemuel Whiting Babcock was born at Milton, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, on 24 September 1813.1,3,2 He was the son of Lemuel Babcock and Lucretia Whiting.1,2 Lemuel Whiting Babcock died of old age at Canton Avenue, Milton, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, on 26 November 1898 at age 85.4,2
      Lemuel Whiting Babcock was a farmer.2 At Roxbury, on 1 March 1872, N W Morrill wrote a history of the Babcock piano business, which was later copied by Lemuel W Babcock and sent to his cousin (once removed) William L Pierce.5 On 21 February 1889 Lemuel Babcock wrote a letter addressed "Dear Cousins," probably to William L Pierce, in which he related family genealogy.6
