      She was a native of Washington and a graduate of the Madeira School and Wellesley College.
She was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Upper Marlboro. She was a former vestry member, teacher and school coordinator at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Potomac, where she lived from the early 1960s until the late 1980s.
Mrs. MacMartin also was a volunteer at Christ Church Child Center, a school for handicapped children in Potomac, and at Woodmore Elementary School in Mitchellville. She also volunteered with the Prince George's County Warm Nights Program for homeless people.
Her interests included birding and gardening. On the Eastern Shore, where she had a vacation home in Royal Oak, Md., she was a member of the Friends of Wye Mill and the Wildfowl Trust of North American.6 She resided at District of Columbia between 1951 and 1952.3 She and James Alexander MacMartin resided at Potomac, Montgomery County, Maryland, on 17 April 1987.1

     Mabel F Rawling was born at Nova Scotia, Canada, between 4 April 1885 and 3 April 1886.1 She was the daughter of David J Rawling and Drusilla Wiles.1 Mabel F Rawling married at Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts, on 3 April 1904, Arthur Henry Hanscom, age 18, son of William Frank Hanscom and Nellie A Brown, ceremony performed by Frank W. Padelford, Clergyman, Lynn.1

     William Henry Ray was born at McIndoe's Falls, Vermont, on 1 June 1858. He was the son of Benjamin Franklin Ray and Sarah Oakes. William Henry Ray married on 12 June 1880, at age 22, Martha Hunt Hutchinson, age 21, daughter of Dea. Henry Hutchinson and Charlotte Hunt.1 William Henry Ray died on 30 July 1889 at age 31.
     He resided at Norwich, Windsor County, Vermont. William was a teacher. He received an A.B. degree from Dartmouth, in 1878.
