     Laura Dixon Remick was born at South Eliot, York County, Maine, on 24 September 1915.3,1 She was the daughter of Albert Sidney Remick and Altie Alvaretto Huntress.2,1 Laura Dixon Remick died after a period of failing health at York Hospital, York, York County, Maine, on 10 January 2003 at age 87.3,1
      Born in her lifelong home on Pleasant Street, she attended local schools, graduating from Eliot High School with the Class of 1932.

She was employed for a number of years at the Sherwood Curtain Store in Portsmouth, until its closing in 1961. She was a member of the Sarah Orne Jewett Chapter O.E.S. of South Berwick and the Eliot High School Alumni Association. She was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed keeping her yard; she also had a great love for cats. She enjoyed many types of handiwork, including knitting and crocheting and tatting, among many. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.1 She resided at Eliot, York County, Maine, on 25 January 1964.4

    Carrie Peterson was born Jan. 18, 1883 in Sweden to Mr. and Mrs. J. Ole Peterson. She came to America with her parents in 1883 and settled on a farm near Wilmar, Minn. She moved to Montana in 1913 and took up a homestead in the Webster community. In 1943 she moved to Baker where she continued to make her home.
    She was a charter member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church.
    She passed away March 2 in the Fallon Memorial Hospital after an illness of two months. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and three brothers.
    Survivors include a son, Gerald Knutson; a sister, Mrs. Warren Huntress, St. Paul, Minn.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
