Sarah Stiles was born at Ossipee, Carroll County, New Hampshire, on 14 July 1806.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Isaac Stiles and Hannah Linscott.1 Sarah Stiles married, first, at Shapleigh, York County, Maine, on 29 April 1833, at age 26, ceremony performed by Whiting Stevens, Justice of the Peace Capt. Joseph Huntress, age 30, son of Ichabod Huntress and Mary Wadleigh. (both) of Shapleigh.4 Sarah Stiles died on 3 October 1890 at age 84.5
On 2 August 1891, Sarah, widow of George H. Huntress, who served in Company C of the 19th Maine Inf., filed for a Civil War widows pension from the state of Maine.6
