He was the son of Ralph and Margaret (Levensaler) Titus of Waldoboro, who were residents for many years of Eliot.
Born in York on April 24, 1939, he was educated in Eliot schools and graduated from Eliot High School. He had served in the Navy for nine years, and was a communications instructor at the Naval Training Station in Newport. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve in Newport.
Besides his parents, survivors include a brother, Alden of Eliot; a sister, Mrs. Grace Colter of Augusta, and several nieces and nephews.2

Florence Huntress Titus was born at South Eliot, York County, Maine, on 20 June 1904.3,4,5,6,2 She was the daughter of Alonzo Edwin Titus and Grace Mabel Huntress.2 Florence Huntress Titus married at Maine on 24 October 1927, at age 23, Vernon O Searles, age 24, son of Ernest O Searles and Louise M Brooks.1 Florence Huntress Titus died at a nursing home at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, on 30 July 1986 at age 82.3,2 She was buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Eliot, York County, Maine.2
She had been a clerk at Woolworth's in Portsmouth. Titus attended Eliot schools and at the age of 17 enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in World War II, seeing action at New Guinea and the Philippines. He was in the Korean invasion and due to illness was given a temporary disability retirement in February, 1952.
He held membership in the Fleet Reserve Association of Portsmouth.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Alden R. Titus and Edwin A. Titus, both of Eliot; one sister, Mrs. Grace M. Clough of Eliot; a nephew, and his grandfather Alonzo E. Titus of Eliot.2
