Caleb Ward was born at Waltham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on 22 November 1748. He was the son of Thaddeus Ward and Lydia Benjamin.2 Caleb Ward married at Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts, on 22 January 1772, at age 23, Rebecca Foster, age 21, daughter of Jeremiah Foster and Rebecca Dickinson.3 Caleb Ward died at Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts, on 20 January 1813 at age 64.4 He was buried at Old Cemetery, Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts.4
Foster Genealogy states that: "He was a selectman in Ashburnham and his name was frequently on the town records. His wife resided in A. for 77 years and 60 years in the house in which she died."5 Caleb Ward was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census at Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts. In his family were two males over 16 years of age (Caleb, and Samuel), two under (Caleb, Jonas, and/or Jacob), and four females (Rebecca, Rebekah, Sarah, Lucy, and/or Bekah).6 Caleb Ward was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census at Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts. Caleb Ward was born maybe at Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, in 1693. He was the son of William Ward and Abigail Spring. Caleb Ward married at Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, in December 1719, Sarah Wilson.1
