     Caleb Ward was born at Waltham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on 22 November 1748. He was the son of Thaddeus Ward and Lydia Benjamin.2 Caleb Ward married at Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts, on 22 January 1772, at age 23, Rebecca Foster, age 21, daughter of Jeremiah Foster and Rebecca Dickinson.3 Caleb Ward died at Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts, on 20 January 1813 at age 64.4 He was buried at Old Cemetery, Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts.4
      Foster Genealogy states that: "He was a selectman in Ashburnham and his name was frequently on the town records. His wife resided in A. for 77 years and 60 years in the house in which she died."5 Caleb Ward was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census at Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts. In his family were two males over 16 years of age (Caleb, and Samuel), two under (Caleb, Jonas, and/or Jacob), and four females (Rebecca, Rebekah, Sarah, Lucy, and/or Bekah).6 Caleb Ward was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census at Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts. In his family were one male between 10 and 16 years of age (Jonas), three between 16 and 26 (Caleb and unk), one over 45 (Caleb), one female under 10 (Lucy), one between 10 and 16 (Bekah), one between 16 and 26 (Rebekah and/or Sarah), and one over 45 (Rebecca).7 Caleb Ward was listed as the head of a family on the 1810 Census at Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts. In his family were one male under 10 years of age (unk), one between 16 and 26 (Jonas), and one over 45 (Caleb), one female between 16 and 26 (Lucy or Bekah), and one over 45 (Rebecca).8
