     Peter Weatherspoon was born at New York City, New York County, New York, on 17 September 1836.1,6,7,8 He was the son of Sergt. Peter Weatherspoon and Hannah Maria Wright.4,3,5 Peter Weatherspoon married circa 1877, Magdalena Cardenas.9,10 Peter Weatherspoon died of apoplexy also contributing were paralysis (hernia plegia) at 627 Belmont Street, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, on 21 March 1915 at age 78.5 He was buried at Odd Fellows Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, on 22 March 1915.5
     He enlisted in the Civil War Confederate Army as a 8th Texas Field Battery.11 He was a soldier in the Civil War "he came home a cripple and was paralyzed, on one side of his body, the rest of his life. Hanna, bought some goats and sheep from her son-in-law, Brigham, for Pete to use in the job that he had after the Civil War. That of a Cemetery Keeper for City Cemetery #4. As they had no way to mow in those days, the animals were used to graze the cemeteries and keep the weeds down. A bill of sale is on file in San Antonio, Texas."12 He was discharged as a Private.11 He was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census at 1601 Paso Hondo Street, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.
